DDL709-FVP-7HWS Troubleshooting: Registered Fingerprint Doesn’t Work

Updated over 3 weeks ago

1. Scope Check

Ask: “Does the issue affect one user or multiple users?”

  • One user only → go to Step 2

  • Multiple users → go to Step 3

2. Single-User Check

  • Ask the user to inspect their finger(s) for:

    • Dryness or dampness

    • Cold skin

    • Cuts or injuries

    • Lotion or heavy wear

  • Retry the fingerprint scan.

Note: Faint or shallow ridges, very dry/wet skin, or worn fingerprints may prevent the sensor from reading one user’s finger while still working for others.

3. Multiple-User Failure — Quick Fixes

Perform these steps one at a time, testing after each:

  1. Check battery level

    • Replace with a fully charged spare lithium battery.

  2. Perform a factory reset

    • Note: This erases all user data.

    • After reset, the master PIN is restored to the default: 12345678

  3. Re-register fingerprints

4. Persistent Issue

  • If the problem continues after Step 4, replace the OUTSIDE PANEL following the warranty procedure: Warranty Claim & Technical Escalation.
