Adjust the latch direction to adapt to the door swing direction:
If the slant of the latch is towards the outside of the door, the door is inswing.
If the slant of the latch is towards the inside of the door, the door is outswing.
Steps:
Pull the lock-out bolt bar upward - This disengages the latch so it can be rotated.
Push the latch in and rotate it 180° - Turn the latch so the bolt faces the correct direction for your door setup.
Release the latch and let it rebound
Ensure the latch springs back into its normal position.
Check that it moves freely and engages correctly in the strike plate.
