Step 1: Initial Checks
1. Battery Type
Ensure disposable alkaline batteries are used.
Rechargeable batteries must not be used as they may damage the board and are not covered by warranty.

2. Corrosion / Rust Check
Inspect batteries and terminals for corrosion or rust.
Corrosion/rust damage is not covered by warranty.
Attempt cleaning using a dry soft brush or fine sandpaper.
3. Inside Panel Replacement (if unresolved)
If the issue remains after the above checks, replace the inside panel (customer to purchase). 🔗 Order replacement parts here: https://mysmartlocks.com.au/collections/spare-parts
If all checks above are OK, continue to Step 2.
Step 2: Replace Batteries - Install a fresh set of disposable alkaline batteries
Step 3: Cable & Installation Check
**Proceed only if the customer is willing to uninstall the lock. If not, skip to Step 4.)
Check the following:
The cable joint is inserted correctly (not reversed).
Cable is not crushed, broken, or distorted.
Pin headers are not bent or loose.
Solutions:
Reconnect the cable properly.
Reinstall the batteries.
Replace the damaged cable if broken.
Straighten bent pins and reinsert.
If pin headers are loose, reinsert securely.
Step 4: Factory Reset
⚠️ This will erase all user data and revert the master PIN to default: 12345678
Steps:
Remove the inside lower cover.
Double-press the RES button using a pointed object.
Confirm reset by listening for: “Restored to factory settings.”
Step 5: Observation
If the issue persists, replace the inside panel.
Proceed via the warranty process: “Warranty Claim & Technical Escalation.”
