DDL702-8HWS Facial Recognition and Ultrasonic Sensor Troubleshooting

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Facial Recognition Triggered Continuously

Facial recognition may be triggered continuously if there are objects within 80 cm of the lock. These objects may include shoe cabinets, vases, walls, a neighbor’s door, or people walking in the corridor.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Remove any nearby obstacles where possible.

  2. If obstacles cannot be removed, enter 060# to set the detection range to 60 cm.

The ultrasonic sensor detection range applies to the current software version and may change after future updates. The default detection range is 80 cm.

Facial Recognition Failures

Identifying Issues
Facial recognition identifies users based on facial structure and distinctive features such as the eyes, nose, and mouth. Covering these areas with a mask, cap, or other objects may cause recognition failure.

Lighting Conditions
Strong lighting conditions may affect recognition, such as when the front escutcheon is exposed to direct sunlight and the user stands with their back to the sun.

Misrecognition
Facial recognition may incorrectly identify twins or individuals with very similar facial features.

Ultrasonic Sensor Failures

If the ultrasonic sensor does not function properly and facial recognition cannot be activated:

  • Wake up the keypad manually to enable facial recognition.

Users wearing clothing made of fluffy or sound-absorbing fabrics may experience failed ultrasonic detection, as ultrasonic waves can be absorbed by such materials. In these cases:

  • Wake up the keypad to enable facial recognition, or

  • Use an alternative unlocking method.
