Updated over 2 weeks ago

Step by Step Guide:

Required Tools

  • #2 Phillips screwdriver

Prepare the Door and Check Dimensions

Confirm the hole in the door is 1-1/2" or 2-1/8" (38 mm or 54 mm). Measure the hole in the door edge is 1" (25 mm).

Backset - Confirm the backset is 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60 mm or 70 mm).

Door Thickness - Confirm the door thickness is 1-3/8" to 2" (35 mm to 50 mm).

Door Frame Hole - Ensure the hole in the door frame is drilled at least 1" (25 mm) deep to allow the deadbolt to extend fully when locked.

⚠️ Attention:

  • Make sure the door frame is properly aligned with the door.

  • Ensure there are no obstructions inside the door frame.

Optional: Upper Screw Hole

  • Installing the upper screw on the exterior assembly is optional.

  • It is recommended for additional security or if the door is weak or warped.

  • If installing: Drill a 19/32" hole in the door before starting installation.

Determine the backset and adjust the
Latch Bolt.

  1. Hold the Latch Bolt in front of the door hole with the latch face flush against the door edge.

    • If the slotted hole is centered, no adjustment is required.

    • If the slotted hole is NOT centered, rotate and pull the latch bolt to extend it.

Latch Hole Adjustment

  • For a 1-1/2" (38 mm) bore hole:

    • Use a 1" (25 mm) drill bit to extend the latch hole at least 13/64" (5 mm) deeper.

  • For a 2-1/8" (54 mm) bore hole:

    • No extension is required.

After adjustment, reinsert the latch bolt to confirm correct fit.

Install the Latch Bolt

  1. Insert the latch bolt into the door edge.

  2. Rotate the latch bolt using a screwdriver to ensure smooth rotation.

If rotation is not smooth:

  • Remove the latch bolt.

  • Chisel a small channel at the top of the hole to provide clearance for the latch cam

  • Reinstall and test again.

Install the Strike Plate

Install the strike plate on the door frame.

⚠️ Attention:

  • Ensure the hole in the door frame is drilled at least 1" (25 mm) deep.

Install the Exterior Assembly

⚠️ Important Before Installation

Ensure the latch bolt is fully retracted (unlocked position).

Do NOT insert the key during installation.

Check door hole diameter:

  • 1-1/2" (38 mm): Remove the spacer.

  • 2-1/8" (54 mm): Proceed without changes.

With the latch bolt fully retracted:

  • Route the cable beneath the latch bolt.

  • Insert the tailpiece through the slot in the latch bolt.

⚠️ Attention:

  • The upper screw and screw post are optional and used for added security or weak/warped doors.

Secure the Mounting Plate with the Mounting Plate Screws. Do not overtighten screws.

Attention: Route the cable through the mounting plate. The upper screw is optional. Install the screw post into the exterior assembly before installing the upper screw.

Install the Interior Assembly

Push the battery cover and bottom cover upward as shown.

⚠️ Attention: Do not install batteries until lock installation is complete.

Connect the exterior assembly cable to the interior assembly socket. Push firmly until fully seated.

Keep the Thumb turn vertical and the tailpiece horizontal, then install the interior assembly.

Attach the interior assembly to the mounting plate. Secure with short and long assembly screws (top and bottom). Attach the bottom cover.

Install Batteries & Activate Lock

  1. Install 3 AA alkaline batteries following the polarity guide inside the battery holder.

  2. Activate the lock (required):

  • Press and hold the Reset button.

  • While holding it, insert the final battery.

  • Release after hearing the voice prompt:
    “Restore to factory settings.”

This activates the lock-handling process and must be completed before setup.

  1. Push the battery cover back onto the interior assembly.

⚠️ Final Attention:

  • Ensure the cable is not pinched, or the lock will not function properly.
