Scope: The lock uses a rechargeable lithium battery. Two batteries are included with the lock; the second battery acts as a spare, allowing continuous use while the other charges.
Battery Warranty:
Supplied lithium batteries are covered for 1 year from the date of purchase.
Safety First
Do not use or charge bloated batteries. Bloating indicates damage. Remove carefully, avoid puncturing, and place it in a non-flammable container. Take it to an authorized e-waste or battery disposal facility immediately.
Do not short-circuit, puncture, or expose batteries to heat. If unsure, contact support.
Battery Usage Guidelines
Only one battery powers the lock at a time.
Keep the spare battery charged and use it when the active battery runs out.
Charge the spare battery while using the other battery to maintain continuous operation.
Alternating batteries ensures the lock remains operational at all times.
Step-by-Step: No Power (Lock Completely Dead)
Soft wake: Tap the lock screen or press any key. Check for LED or voice response.
Check the active battery: Remove it and inspect for bloating, corrosion, or loose contacts.
Insert the spare battery: Place a fully charged spare battery in the lock.
Check contacts and orientation: Ensure the battery is inserted correctly and contacts are clean.
Determine battery status:
If the lock powers on with the spare, the original battery needs charging or replacement.
Check warranty status:
Within 1 year: Order a replacement battery via KB article “Create a Sales Order”.
Beyond 1 year: Refer the customer to MSL Replacement Parts: MSL Spare Parts.
Factory reset: If the lock still does not power on with both batteries, perform a factory reset.
Check cables and pins:
Ensure cable joints are inserted properly and not reversed.
Inspect pin headers for bends or loose connections.
Check that cables are not crushed, broken, or distorted.
Issues caused by improper installation (damaged cables or pins) are not covered under warranty.
Outside panel cable damaged: Customer must order a replacement outside panel.
Loose/bent pins in cable terminals: Customer must order a replacement inside panel.
If cables/pins are intact but the issue persists, replace the inside panel following the TECH ESCALATION process.
Tips to Prolong Battery Life
Only use recommended rechargeable lithium batteries.
Alternate between active and spare batteries to avoid full discharge.
Use a stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network; avoid unstable connections.
Minimise frequent remote operations or excessive biometric scans.
Handling Bloated Batteries
Do not charge or use a bloated battery.
Remove and store safely. Take a photo for your records.
Dispose off at an authorized e-waste or battery recycling centre.
