DDL603E-5HWS Troubleshooting: No power/ Battery draining fast

1. Battery Compartment Issue

Possible Causes

  • Battery compartment is rusted

Solutions

  • Replace the battery compartment


2. Battery Issue

Possible Causes

  • Batteries are leaking

  • Batteries are not charging (reserve battery)

  • Batteries are fully discharged

Solutions

  • Replace the batteries

  • Reinstall the batteries and ensure proper orientation


3. Installation Issues

Possible Causes

  • Cable joint is not inserted properly or inserted in reverse

  • Bent or loose pins in the cable joint pin header

  • Cable is crushed, broken, or distorted during installation

Solutions

  • Remove the cable and reinsert it correctly

  • Straighten bent pins and reinsert; if pins are loose, ensure they are properly seated

  • Replace damaged cables


4. PCB (Circuit Board) / Mortise Issue

Possible Causes

  • Faulty front PCB or rear PCB

  • Faulty mortise

Diagnosis

  • Test with a known working front or rear PCB to isolate the issue

  • Test with a known working mortise

Solutions

  • Replace the front or rear PCB

  • Replace the mortise


5. User Environment Issues

Possible Causes

  • Metal filings on the rear PCB causing a short circuit

  • Foreign material or residue in the USB port causing a short circuit

Solutions

  • Remove metal filings carefully

  • Clean the USB port using a cotton swab, or replace the USB port if required

NOTE: Always use a set of disposable alkaline batteries. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended.
